In cooperation with ING Bank, AcceptEasy was introduced as a new method of automatic bank transfer. Now Thomas Cook uses AcceptEasy for the urgent payments of last-minute bookings, and to collect outstanding claims.
Customers receive an acceptemail in their email, instead of a request for a one-time authorization. The acceptemail can be paid directly – and payment is guaranteed. A great advantage for the company. With AcceptEasy, Thomas Cook receives immediate payment of last-minute bookings. They also have greater success collecting outstanding bills – with 100% reconciliation, thanks to automatic and faultless payment identification.
Paying last-minute with AcceptEasy
Thomas Cook sends last-minute customers an acceptemail instead of a request for one-time bank transfer authorization – so customers no longer need to spend time filling out forms. An acceptemail can be paid in a few clicks, without having to enter long numbers or other fiddly details. Billing details and payment identification are automatically processed in the transaction, which makes client invoice matching at Thomas Cook a lot easier. The payment cannot be reversed. And Thomas Cook offices around the world can see the payment in real time by using the AcceptEasy dashboard. Bookings can be completed so much faster. Now “old-school” one-time authorization is longer offered, because of the cancellation risk.
“AcceptEasy offers customers the possibility of paying directly from their inbox,” said Philip Boland, Head of Accounts Receivable at Thomas Cook. “That’s convenient for them, but it also ensures we receive payments faster and can process everything more easily. In the first week we went live, AcceptEasy proved its worth. For example, the remaining payment on a complicated group booking was paid immediately after we sent them an AcceptEasy. We and our customers now see AcceptEasy as an easier and safer alternative for the more complicated one-time authorization.
“An added advantage for us is that payment with AcceptEasy is definite. Unlike automatic bank transfers, it can’t be reversed,” said Philip. “Considering recent changes to the European payment system, AcceptEasy is a great innovation. Our customers quickly recognize that they’ve received an acceptemail, and it’s user friendly. And we were won over by its rich back-end functionality and reporting. Implementing went well, and the people at AcceptEasy are easy to work with. They are knowledgeable and experienced. Our employees are very enthusiastic about AcceptEasy.”
