Did you receive a payment request?

Did you receive a bill or a reminder from a supplier, enabled by Serrala or AcceptEasy? But you have no idea who we are and how it works? Don’t worry, we’ll gladly explain everything.

AcceptEasy was a Dutch software company that joined Serrala - a global software company - in 2020.

Our solution sends out millions of payment requests every year, on behalf of hundreds of brands in some 20 countries. They enable you to easily and safely pay these companies. By credit card, PayPal, or (also) a local payment method.

It's that simple.

1.  Make sure it checks out
Are you a customer? Is your data correct? Do you understand why you got it? Does everything look OK?

2.  Click on the button or link (often trx.ae/…)
This takes you to our payment page, on transaction.acceptemail.com/… or transaction.accepteasy.com/…

3.  Pay as you’re used to
With the payment option(s) presented, just like buying online.

4.  Done!
You typically see success confirmed straight away.

Our payment requests are often sent by email. Increasingly they also reach you in other ways, such as: SMS/text, the “My…” portal of the brand, its mobile app, WhatsApp and even paper.

All those messages contain a link. Which can be a button, a web address or a QR code. Following that links takes you to our secure online payment page. You’ll see a lock icon on the address bar, like in this example from an iPhone:

This page is unique to your payment. It’s all set up for you, so that you no longer have to type in any details: how much, to whom, what for, when… and a number (Reference) that will enable the company to know exactly what the payment was for. That’s why you can proceed with the payment straight away.

Using for example Sofort/Klarna in Germany, EPS in Austria, Bancontact in Belgium, iDEAL in the Netherlands, Vipps in Norway, P24 in Poland, PayWithMyBank in the United States… or card, PayPal, Apple Pay, whatever option you see and prefer.

Below you can see an example where Apple Pay is used for payment. After payment you will be redirected to our payment page, which indicates that you have paid with a green color.

New Logos

Soon the branding of the payment requests will change slightly. Instead of the AcceptEasy logo on the payment page, in the banner and on the button, there will be a Serrala logo. It also possible to show another logo on the payment button, for example the logo of the company that you need to pay.

Below please find a few examples that show the new branding.

I see Serrala, AcceptEasy and AcceptEmail. What’s the deal?

We started as AcceptEmail in 2008 and changed our name to AcceptEasy in 2017, as our payment requests by then reached people via many different channels. In 2020 we joined Serrala. so that's our name now. The words and brands AcceptEmail and AcceptEasy with their blue color are disappearing, but for now you'll still see them in for example the web address of the payment page, and this website.

Our business started out as AcceptEmail in 2008, because our payment requests were always and only sent my email. A couple of years ago we changed our name to AcceptEasy, because we today reach people in a variety of ways (SMS, WhatsApp, biller portals etc.). So it’s the same company with the same services. But we can’t just erase 10 years of AcceptEmail, which is why you may still come across that name, in a payment request or the web address of the payment page.

How do I know if payment was successful?

First, you’ll typically know from the authorization process with the payment provider. Next, we clearly confirm it on the payment page (with a green color and changed status). Finally, you can often see it in the payment request from which you started: when you reopen or refresh it, the button or banner will have turned green.

My payment request has a red button or banner. What does that mean?

A red button or banner means that the due date of the payment request has passed. Simply put: you’re too late. You can no longer pay this payment request. Typically, the biller will now send you a new reminder to pay after all.

I see a button that says “Pay Later” or similar. What does it do?

Most bills or reminders give you weeks to pay. That’s why many people want to wait until later. But that often makes them forget. Using the “Pay Later” option will make us resend the payment request a couple of days before the due date. To help you remember.

I have a question about the bill or invoice. Who do I contact?

It can happen that you don’t agree with a payment request, or don’t understand why you got it. You should then contact the company on whose behalf we sent it. AcceptEasy is just the messenger enabling easy payment. Why and how much you need to pay is not up to us.

When does my money reach the biller’s bank account?

That depends on the payment method, the country, the bank, the day/date and more. But it usually doesn’t matter: AcceptEasy immediately notifies the biller when you successfully authorize payment. Even if the funds still take a day or more. That confirms your timely payment.

I received a payment request by email, but also via text / SMS. Which one should I use?

You can use either. If the Reference (unique number) is the same, we’ll see that it’s the same payment request. The status of both instances will change to “Paid”. So you can never accidentally pay twice. And the fact that you’ve paid is clear everywhere.

I received a payment request by email, but also see it in the biller’s portal and/or their mobile app. Which one should I use?

You can use either. If the Reference (unique number) is the same, we’ll see that it’s the same payment request. The status of both instances will change to “Paid”. So you can never accidentally pay twice. And the fact that you’ve paid is clear everywhere.

Can I also make the payment by initiating a bank transfer separately?

Yes, you can. But please make sure to then use the same Reference (unique number) so the biller knows what that payment is for. Otherwise confirmation may happen late or not at all. Potentially causing problems for you. Paying from the AcceptEasy payment request ensures speed and accuracy.

So I am paying to Serrala?

No, you pay your biller. Serrala doesn’t touch the money. We just present the payment on a silver platter, so that your authorization is all that’s needed. Some payment methods (like credit card) may involve the money going through a payment processor first. This is how most web shops work as well: the money automatically makes its way to the brand we work for.

Can I ask you for an extension or payment plan?

No, you need to do that with the company on whose behalf we sent you the payment request. For some brands we offer such options inside the payment requests already. You will then see that yourself.

This is awesome. Can I use this for my small business or non-profit?

Yes and no. The solution becomes interesting (for you and for us) if you send a substantial number of payment requests. It’s worth the effort and cost once you reach say 1000 per year. Unless for example it’s for high-value invoices.

The payment request is for a Mandate. How does that work?

Our payment requests are also used to give off a Mandate for Direct Debit in SEPA countries (recurring automatic payments from your bank account). Depending on the country, you can confirm the Mandate by paying 1 cent or the first installment from your bank account, immediately verifying that you own that bank account. Simple and safe.

Your payment request was caught in my Spam filter. What gives?

AcceptEasy does a lot to prevent this. It’s rare and getting rarer. Our clients play a part in that. Drop us a note via contact@accepteasy.com if you fond our payment request in your Junk folder, and we’ll get to work. Do take care to see if it really was an AcceptEasy payment request. When in doubt, do send on!

I paid the amount directly, not from your payment link. Now what?

No problem. Your biller will see the money arrive, and if the details are correct it will nicely match the bill that the money was for. This may take longer however, and that information may not reach us at all. So, our payment request will remain payable (blue) until it expires (and turns red). Our system might then also automatically resend the payment request shortly before the due date. You can then ignore it.

Paying from our payment request is smoother, also because the payment stays coupled to that it’s for. You can’t make any mistakes in amount, reference or bank account. People regularly make mistakes when they create a transfer from scratch, causing the biller to have to manually figure out what the payment was for.

I transferred the money myself, but still received a copy of the original payment request. Why?

If you transfer the money yourself. it will still reach the biller. But that information typically won’t make it to us (quickly). So, our system may still send you a so-called preminder shortly before the due date. You can then ignore it.

How do I know if the payment request is real?

Our payment requests typically contain personal details that a fraudster will rarely, if ever, know – like your name and customer number. You’ll see the same details on the unique webpage we create for your payment. That is also very hard top emulate for a fraudster. And once you get to authorization of the payment, you can also verify the beneficiary of the payment.

Those are the most important things to check yourself. Behind the scenes we do a lot as well to keep fraudsters away.

Is your question not listed? Forward your payment request with your question to contact@accepteasy.com, so that we immediately know which biller it pertains and can help you along faster.

Try it yourself? Do the demo

Want to know exactly how it works? Enter your email address and receive a real payment request for 50 cents. Choose a real payment method to test it for real or perform a Demo payment to only experience the concept. Note: if you pay for real, you will not get the 50 cent back!

When you open or refresh the email after payment, the payment button changes from blue to green, turning our payment request into your payment receipt.
